Halla Har Halla Har was born and raised in Siglufjörður, a village on the north coast of Iceland, but now lives in Keflavik. Halla studied at the Icelandic School of Arts. One of her primary teachers was a world-renowned artist. Halla returned to art teacher school with the encouragement of artist Barbara Arnason. She lived for a while in Denmark and attended Danish artist Søren Edsberg's art teacher classes. Halla has held many private exhibitions as well as participating in exhibitions in Iceland and abroad. Halla's works have received much recognition and several awards. Some of her works have been published in books and on cards from Kiefel Publications in Germany. In 1978, Halla studied the art of stained glass at Dr. H. Oidtmann Stained Glass and Mosaik Factory Workshop, one of the oldest of its kind in Germany. Since then, Halla has done her stained glass and mosaic work there at the factory. Her last course in stained glass was in the Vinery Stained Glass Studio in Madison, Wisconsin in the United States.

Halla's main awards and recognitions include a Cultural and Art grant from the National Soroptomist Association in 1978; Winner of the Artist's contest held by the Swim Center in Keflavik in 1988; Selection to create stained glass windows in a chapel in Mainz, Germany in 1993; appointment as Artist of the Year in 1993 in Keflavik and recent internet publication of several stained glass works in this Architectural Art Glass Light Show. Halla has supported charity organizations for many years by donating paintings, paintings on Christmas cards, and for stamps and cards used on special occasions for publication.
