I'm not impressed if you want to know the truth. My husband and I had a contest the other night. We each cut 5 of the same identical piece....me using the band saw, he the traditional way. He won!!!! The one time I used a band saw to make a sever inside cut it so weakend the pieces that 8 of 10 broke prior to installation. The next time I cut the pieces by hand and trimed the leads to allow the slight rounding of the cut glass and had all pieces survive through installation. It's worth supporting your local glass store whenever you can (if you have one!). If it closes, you lose the ability to choose glass at first hand and you learn quickly to stock up on basics, since there's no running into town when you need another roll of solder, or something....
