Notes:

The actual name of the topic (i.e. Gun Control) should appear wherever "(Topic Name)" occurs in the sample code above.

A custom graphic for the topic name will be created by the center to assure visual consistency with the rest of the site.

"Sites of Particular Interest" can be of any sort (legislation, lobbying groups, recent news stories, etc.). This section in the page is intended to contain the "hot" links for the topic and can change as political debates evolve (i.e. pages related to the ATF/Branch Dividian hearings could be "Sites of Particular Interest" on a Gun Control page for a few months and later drop to the last box of topic related links.)

Government and educational sources are prefered for links to topic related legislation, but when necessary or appropriate an interest group's mirror site can be used (i.e. it is prefered to link to the congress web server or cornell law library than to the NRA legal page for the official text of any given gun control law)

When setting up links to interest groups, discretion and ballance in selction are encouraged. Not all topic related interest group sites need be listed (many sites may be redundant and contribute little original information). Admittedly, one side may dominate the available web site offerings for a given topic (i.e. at the time of this writing there are many more anti-gun control pages on the web than pro-gun control).

The "(Topic Name) Links" section is for pages of links and other web resources appropriate to the topic. Yahoo, Vote-Smart and other organizations' and individuals' issue related pages may be included here (i.e. Vote Smart's "http://www.vote-smart.org/issues/gun.htm") News articles (i.e. Reuters articles on the web) are also appropriate.

When possible, the bottom bar links to Considered Opinion ("../cons_op.htm") and Teachers' Resources ("../teacher.htm") should be set to the URL's of related pages within the "cfip/consop" and "cfip/teach/" directories (i.e. for a page on Gun Control the Teacher's Resource bottom bar link could be set to "../teach/lessplan.htm#guncontrol").

The use of nested tables and double depth DL lists is purely aesthetic.
